I’m a published writer and multidisciplinary artist born in London and living in Brussels. Since 2019, I have been working as a freelance ghostwriter and copywriter for a wide range of clients. I contributed to Micro Tattoos (Lannoo), a best-selling book in its genre. In my commissioned work, I help translate artists' emotions into words, which they can use in their paintings, songs or installations. I love to translate all that we can feel, but cannot see.
My dance performance ‘Can you taste the colour of my voice’ has been showcased at FOMU Antwerp and Recyclart (Qommunity festival). One of the films I scripted, ‘Where Do I Belong’, was selected for the Anima Syros International Animation Festival. My artwork, ‘The most beautiful flowers grow at the edge of a cliff’, has been exhibited at Vincen Beeckman’s expo. Words and dance are the red thread running through all my artistic work. It is how I make sense of both myself and the world around me.
As a dance teacher, I created Moving Meditation workshops for people and festivals, including Horst arts & music festival and Paradise City.
In today’s society, white ways are often perceived as better. We have whitewashing, but blackmailing. Neocolonialism is deeply rooted in our understanding of the arts. It dictates how things should be, rather than allowing us to accept them as they are. In my work, I aim to hold space for both my whiteness and my blackness as a way to create peace between both. At the heart of everything I do lies a quest for freedom.
I’m deeply inspired by other authors and academia, elaborating on my background in Human Ecology (Magna Cum Laude, Free University of Brussels) and Journalism (Thomas More). My strong background in dance (Charleroi Danse, Danscentrum Jette, etc.) allows me to strengthen my connection with other dimensions.
The possibility of making the impossible possible is what drives me forward in life. I have always been a dreamer. And transforming my dreams into real creations is my favourite part of the human experience.
