Many holidays and rituals today exclude queer narratives. Colonialism and capitalism broke down queer community bonds and favoured a specific type of romance. Selling us the classic love story. The happy ending. With this project, we aim to celebrate more forms of platonic intimacy, deep friendships and mentorships. We need alternative forms of intimacy and kinships as spaces of support and solidarity. Caring for ourselves, caring for each other, is inherently radical. A revolution on its own.
This zine was created by queers who see queerness as a form of resistance. Where we tie our struggles together against the oppressors, against the border, against the status quo. In order to embrace the complexity of our identities, the rituals of this project are multidisciplinary and are meant to remain ever-changing, reflecting our community's evolving nature.
